The San Gabriel Unified Arts Fest 2024 is all set to enchant attendees with the theme "Tell Your Story," a powerful way to express oneself through the arts! This theme aligns seamlessly with the district's Portrait of a Graduate competency, Communication.
The festival will take place on Sunday, May 19 from 10am to 4pm at Gabrielino High School.Embracing the theme "Tell Your Story," the festival will showcase a diverse array student artwork from each of our school sites through stellar galleries and exhibits. Arts Fest features live performances from our district programs, including Orchestra, Band, Dance, Theater, Speech and Debate, Jazz Band, Rock Band, and more! A poster contest is live and we encourage all students to submit their artwork. Winners will receive prizes and have their work printed. All submissions will be included in our online gallery.
"We are excited to explore the theme 'Tell Your Story' at this year's San Gabriel Unified Arts Fest, as it encapsulates our district's commitment to fostering creativity and communication skills among our students," said Samantha Theisen, Visual and Performing Arts Program Administrator of SGUSD. "By encouraging individuals to share their stories and listen to others, we aim to promote empathy, understanding, and collaboration within our community."
In addition to the live performances and art exhibitions, the festival will feature interactive creative booths, community art projects, workshops, talks on creative careers, vendors, food, and more, all infused with the spirit of storytelling. This event is family-friendly, and free to the public, inviting individuals of all ages to come together and celebrate the transformative power of the arts.
